Waste Wise Policy

Eaton Primary School students and staff are committed to adopting routines and behaviours to minimise our effect on the global climate crisis. We aim to educate our students through impactful classroom programs and creating infrastructure to support sustainable practises.

Goals

·        Adopt whole school language and understanding of ‘Rethink, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’

·        Develop Infrastructure to better sort our school waste and implement consistent language of waste categories (compost, landfill, recycling)

·        Implement whole school Scope and Sequence to ensure environmentally sound attitudes, habits and values are taught consistently

·        Develop the space and opportunity for students to participate in the design, planning and building of a school garden to promote environmental and sustainability learning

·        Students participate in growing food and managing food waste in a productive sustainable way
